Dog-Friendly Corvallis

Corvallis is known for being a dog-friendly town. We love dogs!

Many stores and events around town are dog-friendly. Once a year, just before they close their outdoor pools for the season, Osborn Aquatic Center hosts a doggy swim day. The Corvallis Farmers Market is a dog-friendly affair, too.

If you have your furry best friend, you'll easily find places to stay, eat, and play in Corvallis.

If you're exploring Corvallis with your dog, you can find plenty of dining options. Just about any restaurant in downtown Corvallis with an outdoor seating area will allow dogs (be sure to ask first, though).

Block 15's outdoor seating area is one good option, and American Dream Pizza's downtown location is another. The restaurants located along First Street between Jackson Avenue and Madison Avenue offer dog-friendly outdoor seating, too. Common Fields at 545 SW 3rd Street is dog-friendly, and, moving out of the downtown area, 4 Spirits Distillery and Block 15's tap room, both in South Corvallis, are dog-friendly.

If a restaurant can't accommodate your furry friends, there are several dog-friendly parks located around town, making it easy to grab take-out and find a comfortable spot to eat. Two great options there include the Riverfront Commemorative Park along First Street, which has several seating areas and picnic tables, and Avery Park, located south of Oregon State University at the end of 15th Street, which offers picnic shelters and several lovely places to spread a blanket on the grass.

Some of our local wineries are dog friendly, too, like Airlie Winery.

Many Corvallis hotels are pet-friendly, including Holiday Inn Express on the River, Days Inn, Corvallis Comfort Suites, Best Western, Hotel Corvallis, and Hilton Garden Inn.

More than a few of our VRBOs, Airbnbs, and other guest houses are pet-friendly, too. Fernwood Circle has two dog-friendly locations, and Donovan Guest Houses is also pet friendly.

And don't forget about camping! The Albany/Corvallis KAO, the Benton Oaks RV Park, the Alsea Falls campground, the Alsea Guard Station, and the Marys Peak campground are all dog-friendly.

Visitors should be sure to check ahead with their hotels, camp hosts, or guest house rentals to see about pet accommodations and breed restrictions.

Most - although not all - Corvallis and Benton County parks are dog-friendly, and several allow off-leash dogs, which means if you're looking for places to go hiking or biking with your dog, Corvallis is a great spot to be.

Alsea Falls, Bald Hill, Chip Ross Park, Fitton Green, Marys Peak, and McDonald-Dunn Forest and Peavy Arboretum are all dog-friendly, just for starters. Avery Park, right in Corvallis, offers lots of fun paths and wide open green spaces, plus picnic shelters and playgrounds - perfect if you've got the whole family along.

If you'd like to find some other dogs for yours to play with, Corvallis has one fully-fenced dog park, which you can find right next to the Eric Scott McKinley Skate Park at the south end of Second Street, by the overpass. You'll find another popular off-leash area at Dr. Martin Luthor King, Jr. Park, on NW Walnut Ave., right off the parking lot. Be aware that this area is only partially enclosed, though.

For more information about which Corvallis parks allow dogs, as well as leashing requirements, visit the City of Corvallis' Dogs in Parks webpage.
