Create Magical Moments at the Pastega Christmas Light Display

Corvallis’ holiday season is a time of twinkling lights, festive decorations, and community spirit. One of the most cherished and enduring traditions in our picturesque town is the Pastega Christmas Light Display. This mesmerizing spectacle has been enchanting locals and visitors alike for over 40 years, creating magical moments that warm the hearts of all who experience it.

Located at the Benton County Event Center and Fairgrounds, this radiant display of festive lights and mechanized decorations transforms the area into a holiday wonderland enjoyed by thousands. Between 400 and 700 cars visit the Pastega Christmas Light Display each day it's open. Last year over 30,000 people drove through the Display.

The Pastega Christmas Light Display began in 1981 at the Pepsi Bottling Plant. It was hosted there for 31 years, but after the death of founder Mario Pastega, the display moved across town to the Benton County Fair Grounds.

The Display is more than just a feast for the eyes; it's a celebration of community. The display is entirely volunteer-run, with countless hours poured into making it a reality each year. Local businesses and individuals contribute to ensure that the tradition continues to shine brightly.

The Display features over 200 figures and mechanized scenes. Characters include Bugs Bunny and friends, the Peanuts, superheroes, and Disney favorites, along with more traditional holiday sets featuring Santa and his reindeer, and more.

For families, couples, and friends, a visit to the Pastega Christmas Light Display is an opportunity to create lasting memories.

It's the perfect start to a holiday season evening outing and easily combined with an evening in downtown Corvallis to take in a show at the Majestic Theatre or Whiteside Theatre, followed by dinner at one of our many restaurants. It's also a great way to cap off a day of holiday shopping downtown or visiting one of the many local craft fairs happening this time of year. Be sure to pick up a hot chocolate or coffee at one of our cafes before you visit the Display, or grab a sweet treat to snack on as you drive through.

As the sun sets and the lights come to life, the Pastega Christmas Light Display transforms into a mesmerizing spectacle that captures the essence of the holiday season. With its dedication to community, tradition, and the simple joy of festive lights, this beloved display is a must-visit for anyone in search of magical moments and holiday cheer.

Visitors can enjoy the Pastega Christmas Light Display from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, Nov. 24 through Dec. 31, 2023, at the Benton County Event Center and Fairgrounds (110 SW 53rd Street, Corvallis).

Drivers can enter the light show through the Reservoir Avenue entrance to the Fairgrounds. Admission is a canned food item for donation.
