The School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts Presents: OSU Chamber Choir: Songs of Invention and Innovation
The Notebooks of Leonardo di Vinci and other works focused on the invention of the human mind.
The Notebooks of Leonardo di Vinci is an innovative multi-media work for choir and chamber orchestra bringing to life the innovative sketches, diagrams, and notes that Leonardo recorded from the mid-1480s that demonstrated his ability both as a designer and scientist. The work features the latest video syncing technology to connect the work of Leonardo with the compositional setting by innovative composer Jocelyn Hagan.
The President's Concert was named in honor of President Emeritus Edward J. Ray and his late wife, Beth Ray, the President’s Concert represents the pinnacle of the choral year at Oregon State. The concert features the Chamber Choir, a mixed-voice ensemble directed by Steven Zielke, Director of Choral Studies and Patricia Valian Reser Professor of Music. For the singers, the concert culminates a spring that includes a regional, national, or international tour. For the audience, the concert represents a lovely way to usher out the academic year while looking to the future represented by the exceptional musicians on stage in Detrick Hall at PRAx.
The President’s Concert is made possible by a choral leadership endowment fund that President and Beth Ray helped establish, and by the contributions of generous supporters of vocal music at Oregon State.
