Visit us on Saturdays in July and August for the Historic Homes Trolley Tour. Join in a guided driving tour of the gorgeous historic homes in and around downtown Corvallis, Oregon! Ride in comfortable antique style in an old-fashioned trolley as an informed guide explains the history and architecture behind the beautiful homes on the tour.
The Historic Homes Trolley Tour is an annual tradition in Corvallis, Oregon, and a great way to cap off a Saturday morning at our lively Farmers Market. We bring in a beautiful vintage trolley (with all the modern conveniences, like handicap accessibility and air conditioning) and send you on a tour of the beautiful old homes in and around downtown Corvallis. Our knowledgeable guide will regale you with the history of the home, architectural details, and a bit of history about the families who lived there and in the area.
This year’s tour will feature an all-new route! We fill the tour to capacity every year (and it’s already filling up fast for this year), so if it sounds like fun, make sure you give us a call (541-757-1544 or 800-334-8118) to make your reservation soon.
The tours depart at 1pm from the Benton County Courthouse, on 4th Street (map). Attendees are encouraged to park in the City Hall parking lot (map), or near there. You’ll want to be there at 12:45, and the tour leaves at 1pm. It’s about an hour and a half long, and you’ll be dropped off near City Hall when you’re done. Children are welcome, although the tour is not really suitable for kids under 10. People with reservations are seated first, and walk-ons are accepted if we have room.

About the Tour
Visit Corvallis and PreservationWORKS will launch the 8th season of the Historic Trolley Tours on Saturday, July 8. This year’s tour follows a new route with 36 sites from 5th to 13th Streets and Washington to Taylor. Beginning at the iconic Benton County Courthouse, the 1 1/2 hour tour includes institutional, commercial and industrial buildings as well as more than 20 outstanding historic homes. Knowledgeable guides offer history of the homes, architectural details, and how they all add to their neighborhoods’ and Corvallis’ story.
“The Trolley Tour is a traditional part of our outreach and great fun,” offered BA Beierle, President PreservationWORKS, a local educational organization.
The tour departs from the front of the Benton County Courthouse, 129 NW 4th Street on most Saturdays in July and August. Parking is available in the City Hall lot or ride the bus to the transit center. Arrive at 12:45 as the tour departs promptly at 1 pm. The Trolley is air-conditioned and accessible to all.
“The historic trolley tours fill to capacity every year,” said Mary Pat Parker, Executive Director, Visit Corvallis. Tour-goers with reservations are seated first; walk-ons are accepted on a space available basis. While the tour is free, donations support the program. Reservations are available by calling Visit Corvallis at 541-757-1544.
This year, the Trolley Tour program expansion is also supported by the Arts Center and the Benton County Cultural Coalition.
