You can directly target qualified consumers by being listed in our publications and on our website. Every year over 50,000 visitors read our Official Visitors Guide and over 10 million people use our web site, www.visitcorvallis.com.

Corvallis Tourism's marketing strategy ensures that our publications are placed directly into the hands of those who are considering visiting Corvallis now and into the future. Visitors to Corvallis and Benton County stop first at Corvallis Tourism. They see our advertising, they ask for our publications, they check out our website, they call our toll-free line, and they visit our Visitors Center, all of which can display your business information.

To keep members up to date with Corvallis Tourism activities, we provide you with two informative up-date meetings each year, as well as give you a vote in selecting our Board of Directors or opting to run as a board member.

1: Advertising in the Official Visitors Guide at Special Membership rate

Corvallis Tourism publishes 50,000 copies annually of the Official Corvallis & Benton County Destination Guide. This guide is the only official visitor publication for Corvallis & Benton County. It is distributed to: all advertising inquiries, Internet inquiries, selected Oregon Convention & Visitor Bureaus, State Visitor Centers, major corporations in Corvallis, CVB satellite visitor centers, Oregon State University, conference attendees, our own visitor center and City Hall.  Lodging and Restaurant members receive free listings and can advertise in this publication at a special discounted membership rate.

2: Advertising Inquiry Mailing List

Corvallis Tourism engages in an annual advertising campaign in such publications as Good Housekeeping, Sunset Magazine, Travel & Leisure, VIA, etc. The inquiries that come to the CVB from these publications include names, addresses and often, expected date of visitation. These requests, are fulfilled with the Corvallis Destination Guide and those inquiries that give their permission are then sent to members to fulfill with their information.

4: Advertising on our Web Site

Corvallis Tourism has over 833,000 hits and 276,892 users to its web site http://www.visitcorvallis.com each month. Members receive free listings with links to their sites and reservation capabilities. Members can also buy banner or button ads on the site linked to their web site. Advertisers on the web site receive a monthly email informing them of the number of views and the number of clicks on their advertisement.

5: Convention Calendar (On-Line)

This calendar informs members, when major conferences and sporting events are coming to Corvallis. Even if the hotel is not being used by the conference, they will be aware that overflow is possible.

6: Advertising in Web site and Destination Guide

Ads may be purchased by members at a discount rate in both the Destination Guide and on the Web site. Discounts are given to those who wish to advertise in both the destination guide and web site.

7: Lodging Reservations and Ticket Sales

Lodging reservations must be handled through the reservations service of choice by Corvallis Tourism and not through individual services selected by the members. Fairs and Festivals have the capability of selling entrance tickets on-line.

 8:Convention, Group and Sports Sales Solicitation

Obtain your share of the over 80 conference, sporting event and group leads facilitated by Corvallis Tourism annually. Hotel, B&B, conference facilities and caterer members are represented during these sales solicitations.

9: Free Public Relations Assistance

Corvallis Tourism will provide members with public relations assistance via the distribution of electronic press releases to a state-wide media list (updated annually). Corvallis Tourism acquires (on average) over 500 PR articles per year.

10: Festivals & Events Marketing

Twice annually Corvallis Tourism calls a meeting of all our festivals and events community. Once in the Fall and once in the Spring this group is charged to help Corvallis Tourism help market our festivals and events through a co-op TV advertising program and public relations program and on-line ticket sales.

11:  Front Line Staff Training

Corvallis Tourism offers Corvallis product knowledge training to you and your front line staff, this training is online and can be accessed by contacting Corvallis Tourism. This training helps front desk clerks and other front line staff answer visitor questions and to find out what resources the visitor center can offer.

12:  Membership Update Seminars and E-Zines

To keep members up to date with Corvallis Tourism's marketing activities there will be membership updates each year. On odd years we have the Tourism Awards luncheon for members. Even years we have the Tourism Think Tank for membership and public input. There is also an annual membership meeting each year in September. On a weekly basis we send out an E-Zine email with tourism trend information.

13:  On-Line Reservation Services & Hot Deals

All member hotels and B&Bs have the ability to list their properties on the on-line reservation service on our Web site, including special on-line pages established for each conference and group.

14:  Participation in Corvallis Tourism Co-op Activities

Co-op marketing programs, co-op advertising, sales calls, sales missions, trade shows are arranged by Corvallis Tourism, which members are invited to join.

15: Private Membership Statistics Page

Information to help market your tourism business, including: Monthly city wide occupancy and average daily rate, bid status report, lost business report, convention calendar and visitor profile report

16: Quarterly VIP E-mail Newsletter to qualified subscribers. 

All visitors to our web-site www.visitcorvallis.com have the opportunity to opt-in to the Corvallis Tourism VIP newsletter. They receive via email a quarterly e-newsletter, with articles about hot rates & hot dates along with great things to do in the Corvallis area while they are visiting. (Average size of list 1,700).

17:  Restaurant Reviews & YouTube Video Interviews

Corvallis Tourism has created a web page where every two months a prominent restaurateur is promoted along with a YouTube video interview. Membership can also promote your restaurant to conference delegates and their guests by providing an insert in the conference kit given to each delegate. The Visitor Center can offer a free dessert coupon for your restaurant to lure visitors to come to you.

18: Relocation Leads

Members can receive mailing lists of people wishing information about relocating to Corvallis.

19: Social Media Analysis/ Social Network Analysis.
 
Corvallis Tourism has two Interns who work to make sure that our Web presence is the best it can be. Each hosts a series of blogs and works with others to make sure that blogs and other social media networking about Corvallis continue to spread.

20: Weekly Fast-Fax for Your Information & Tent Cards for Restaurants

Delivered weekly to your front line staff through your fax. Fast-fax informs you of all the activities in the City for the next week. Every two months Corvallis Tourism distributes 400 tent cards to restaurants and other points around the city with upcoming events.

21: Willamette Valley Visitors Association

Corvallis Tourism is a founding member of the Willamette Valley Visitor?s Association (WVVA). WVVA is a Regional Destination Marketing Organization (RDMO) which is charged by the State to promote tourism to the Willamette Valley one of seven recognized regions in Oregon. WVVA's marketing consists of a large public relations campaign, advertising and their own regional web site. Members in Corvallis Tourism automatically have participation in WVVA and can attend their annual meeting and help influence their marketing program.
