Corvallis Dreamers
Think that elves only exist in fairy tale workshops? Think again!
Soft Star Shoes is a family-oriented shoe workshop tucked away on the downtown Corvallis riverfront, and home to busy shoe-making elves that make quality, hand-made shoes for infants, children, youths and adults. This environmentally friendly company originally only made shoes for children, but slowly expanded their customer base to adults when the parents started getting jealous of their children’s foot-friendly shoes! Based on the philosophy that “barefoot is best,” Soft Star believes in healthy, happy feet. They use all natural, high-quality materials in every handcrafted pair of shoes, and the soft and flexible soles used on all the shoes mimic barefoot conditions so that feet become strong and athletic. Customers have the option of customizing shoes down to the very last detail, or choosing from a variety of pre-made shoes. Originally founded in Texas by Oregon State alumnus Elf Tim, the company moved to Corvallis in 1994 because Tim and his wife knew it would be a great place to raise their family. Elf Tim was soon joined by Elf Larkin and Elf Trish who both understood his vision for healthy and eco-friendly footwear. Now, this 25-year-old business has customers from the White House to New Zealand and is praised by kids, adults and bare-foot runners alike! Want to know more?
