Earth Day Weekend in Corvallis (April 19 – 21)

Happy Friday! We’ve got a lot to look forward to this weekend, including An Evening of Ives on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, art shows and receptions, the Corvallis Farmers Market, wine tastings, and more.

Tonight is the reception for Art About Agriculture: Bounty and Community, plus there’s a wine tasting at First Alt South and it’s family movie night at the Osborn Aquatic Center.

Saturday is pretty busy. The NW Expo Model Horse Show is tomorrow, plus it’s opening day for the Corvallis Farmers Market. Many Hands Trading is hosting a Day of Sharing for ABC House, and the Procession of the Species starts at noon by the Helen Berg Plaza downtown. There’s a Vivacity Spirits tasting at noon, too, and later on in the afternoon you can stop in to the library for the Big Conversations Series. There’s a poetry reading with Stephanie Lenox and Donna Henderson and WineStyles is hosting an organic wine tasting for Earth Day.

The Earth Ball starts at 7pm and features the Deep Woods Band and the Sugar Beets, plus all kinds of costumed fun. The reception for the Drop Out Art Show kicks off at 9:30pm, and has the Symbiotic Quintet playing a special composition inspired by Tim Blackburn’s artwork.

Sunday is supposed to be warm and at least a bit sunny, so make sure you get outside to enjoy it. Also, Väsen will be in concert Sunday evening, with Tatiana Hargreaves opening!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
