Local, slow food served quick is what’s for dinner at Brew BQ in Corvallis.
Brew BQ is owned by Iain and Tony Duncan of Duncan Culinary Ventures, which includes Aqua Seafood Restaurant and Bar and Flat Tail Brewery.
There is something for everyone from the kitchen, which serves barbecue with a Pacific Northwest Twist. Meats are dry rubbed with a mix of herbs and then smoked for six to 12 hours in wood-fired smokers heated with local alder, oak, apple and cherry wood.
Spare ribs, beef brisket, chicken and pork share a menu with candied salmon skewers, smoked tofu skewers, vegilicious sandwiches and hushpuppies.
Pacific Northwest micro beers are available on tap and in bottles. The micro-brew culture in the Northwest inspired the restaurant’s name and the goal is to offer hard-to-find specialty brewed micro beers that complement barbecue. House-made hard lemonade and hard sweet tea feature good bourbons, also served neat or on the rocks.
The restaurant is located downtown at 150 SW Madison Ave.
Prices range from $2.50 for a side of creamed corn or slaw to $6 for a sandwich or $19 for a full rack of ribs. Meats and vegetables are purchased locally when available.
Brew BQ is open 4-10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
