Corvallis, Oregon offers a rich arts and culture experience, vibrant with the work of our local artists and performers.

From ballet to stage productions, live concerts to art shows, and several festivals dedicated to celebrating the arts, Corvallis has a rich artistic experience to offer.

The Arts Center and the Benton County Historical Museum, along with several other local arts galleries, host art shows featuring local and regional artists. The Majestic Theatre offer regular performances varying from live productions to concerts and more. The beautiful and historic Whiteside Theatre hosts concerts and other events. Oregon State University brings an amazing array of arts, performances and concerts to Corvallis, too.

Every two years since 1991, Benton County has transformed itself into Quilt County in the Fall. Quilt County 2015 once again honors the art and craft of quilt making with 22 diverse exhibits. Quilt County is sponsored by the Marys River Quilt Guild and the Benton County Museum, in cooperation with other Benton County cultural agencies, churches, shops and galleries.

Quilt County 2015 is an opportunity for The Arts Center to show two artists working with fiber. Bonnie Bucknam and Linda McLaughlin both create art quilts, but with very different results. Their work contrasts in use of color, shape and inspiration.

“Bonnie Bucknam and Linda McLaughlin: Contemporary Art Quilts” will run from August 27 through October 3. There’s a Brown Bag Art Talk with the artists at noon on August 27 and a reception for the show at 5:30pm on August 27. The Arts Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12pm to 5pm, and admission is free.
